Turnip Torment
Team Project (5 : 2 devs, 3 artists) — Unity — 2D Top-Down
Role:
Lead Developer (Unity/C#) - focusing on player movement, play attacks, collectibles, enemy attacks, enemy AI movement, menus, boss fight
Tools:
Unity
C#
Trello
Scrum
What I did:
Implemented core gameplay foundations: character movement, collision, and enemy movement
Contributed to the High Concept Document and helped translate requirements into a sprint backlog
Worked in a Scrum workflow with Trello and sprint planning, managing scope as workload increased
What I learned:
Scope control matters: when deadlines slipped and tasks snowballed, we improved delivery by prioritising essentials and cutting lower-value features.
Communication is critical in team dev: I learned I needed to communicate changes and progress more consistently, especially when personal schedule changes affected meeting attendance.
Agile habits help: breaking work into clear sprint tasks and reviewing progress regularly made it easier to keep the project moving and adapt when issues came up.
